Delta Touch2O Review

About a year and a half ago, I decided to splurge and invest in touchless bathroom faucets.

After doing my research, I eventually settled on Delta Touch2O and then went ahead and bought a total of 5 faucets.

Pros

Installation

Although I don’t consider myself to be a handyman, I found the installation process to be very straightforward. Delta conveniently posted how-to videos on their website.

Ease of installation is a great advantage because this way you won’t have to hire a plumber to install the faucets. They are somewhat expensive to begin with, so any savings make a big difference.

Warranty

Delta’s warranty service is legendary and is one of the main reasons I ended up buying their bathroom faucets.

I recently had to contact their customer service because I needed to replace a part that had broken off. They asked for a copy of my receipt but other than that they didn’t really give me a hard time. I didn’t ask for a free replacement but they went ahead and sent it to me.

Battery Life

As I mentioned earlier, I have had the faucets for about a year and a half and it’s only now that I’m starting to have to replace the batteries on some of them.

Reliability

I haven’t had any trouble with the faucets. They have proved to be extremely reliable.

Versatility

I like the fact that you can use these features not only in touchless mode but also turn them on and off by touching the handle.

Cons

Cost

I paid around $260 per faucet. As touchless faucets go, this was quite reasonable for a price. However, they are still vastly more expensive than standard faucets. I hope Delta can reduce its pricing over time as the technology matures.

Finish

I went with the Chrome finish because it was significantly cheaper. On a set of 6 faucets, I was going to save hundreds of dollars this way compared with Stainless Steel. As it turned out, that was a big mistake.

The Chrome finish needs to be cleaned regularly and smudges easily. If you can afford it, definitely go with Stainless Steel.

My recommendation for Delta is to discontinue Chrome or at least improve the available finishes so they don’t need to be cleaned so frequently. Maintenance is quite a chore.

Takeaways

I have no problem recommending Delta Touch2O faucets to anyone who’s considering them. The combination of the product’s superior performance and Delta’s customer service seals the deal for me.
